Sjedinjene DržaveThey Were Expendable (sh. Bili su potrošni); poznat i pod naslovom Bili su žrtvovani) je američki crno-bijeli ratni film snimljen 1945. u režiji Johna Forda. Radnja se temelji na knjizi Williama Lindsaya White koja je opisivala aktivnost američke Eskadre torpednih čamaca br. 3 za vrijeme bitke za Filipine na početku drugog svjetskog rata na Pacifiku. Radnja prikazuje kako pripadnici eskadre pod vodstvom poručnika Brickleya (koga tumači Robert Montgomery) ispočetka trpe porugu zato što služe na malim i "nevažnim" torpednim čamcima, ali kako se za vrijeme bitke pokaže kako su upravo ta plovila jedino sredstvo s kojim se Amerikanci mogu kako-tako suprotstaviti brojčano nadmoćnim japanskim napadačima. Film je sniman na Floridi uz suradnju američke ratne mornarice, koja je autorima "posudila" autentične PT čamce.
