Thee Oh Sees (før The Ohsees, OCS, Orange County Sound, Orinoka Crash Suite) begynte som en mulighet for John Dwyer (Coachwhips, Pink and Brown, Landed, Yikes, Burmese, The Hospitals, Zeigenbock Kopf) til å gi ut sine instrumentale og eksperimentale hjemmeinnspillinger. I løpet av flere album utviklet det seg til et skikkelig band.

Den første utgivelsen som et skikkelig band kom den 8. april 2008 med The Master's Bedroom is Worth Spending a Night In, som møtte delt kritikk. Mens Pitchfork gav albumet 7.3/10^[1], gav PopMatters albumet kun 3/10.^[2]

Bandets neste album, Warm Slime skal gis ut den 11. mai 2010 via In The Red.^[3]
