Mirabad (Persian: ميراباد)[a] is a village in Zamkan-e Jonubi Rural District[b] of Zamkan District, Salas-e Babajani County, Kermanshah province, Iran, serving as capital of both the district[4] and the rural district.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,069 in 235 households, when it was in Zamkan Rural District of the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,144 people in 283 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 966 people in 260 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In 2019, Zamkan Rural District's name was changed to Zamkan-e Jonubi Rural District, separated from the Central District, and became, along with the new Zamkan-e Shomali Rural District, a part of the newly established Zamkan District.[4]
